Get Moving

Family Fitness

Summer is in full effect, so how are you spending it? Are you active? OR are you lounging? This summer, I decided to get physical outside of the gym with my girls. I’ve always wanted to learn how to play tennis and learn how to swim, so I decided to make this the summer to conquer it all. The best part is that I’m achieving all of this with my family.

Staying active with your kids creates a habit that they will continue naturally as they get older. Therefore, my recommendation to you is to get moving and let every day be full of MOVEMENT with loads of fun.

SUMMER FUN IN THE SUN

Summer vacations are often thought of as weight loss sabotagers, but on the contrary, vacations can be looked at as “real life”. Being able to have fun and not overindulge is the test to see if you have “self-control”. The key is to be not easily tempted by everyone’s encouraging words like “go ahead eat it” and “you’re on vacation”. Nowadays, everywhere you turn you can have and find a healthier food option, so literally, you have no excuses.

The area that can really offset the minor indulgences while on vacation is in the excursions and/or activities that you sign up for. On my recent trip to Jamaica, we were rather adventurous from swimming with dolphins to ziplining in the rainforest and then some. So, keep it moving while on vacay to keep those pounds at bay. Here are some suggestions with activities that will assist you and support your new lifestyle.

*Bike Tours * Sightseeing Tours *Amusement Parks

*Hiking Tours *Local Race – (5K)

**Note: Exploring the sights while on vacation can be twice as fun on bike tours.  Many destinations have bike rentals as a way to cover more ground, it is a twofer in my eyes; fitness and fun – sign me up!
